I've worked on quite a few of these over the years and cycled the power on many of them, never has they required a firmware update straight after. I'm beginning to thing it might be an issue with the main unit of the D-Command. It then happened again after a power cut. ![]() Enter a firmware password in the fields provided, then click Set Password. Then I took it back to the machine room and plugged in the custom cable and it all worked. When the utilities window appears, click Utilities in the menu bar, then choose Startup Security Utility or Firmware Password Utility. ![]() However, I moved the X-Mon to the studio and used the supplied cable, it worked after a few restarts. But it was made following the exact instructions from Avid and has been working absolutely fine until now. Now, I am using a custom cable for the X-Mon connection because the machine room is too far away to run the supplied cable. Ive gotten it from my supplier of esp modules. I turned everything off, unplugged and re-plugged cables, booted back up, no joy. I checked all the cabling and re-installed PT, (at the advice of the Avid Re-seller), and after a bit of trial and error it all came back on line and has been rock solid for a few months, until.Ī few days ago I cycled the power on the main fader unit of my D-Command and again it lost the X-Mon and kept demanding firmware updates. ![]() I was prompted to update the firmware on the D-Command and suddenly the X-Mon was no longer being detected. The first time this happened it was during the update from PT HDX 10.1 to 10.2. The Updater is provided in the event your surface firmware becomes cor-rupt and needs to be repaired or if you need to update the firmware to a newer version. Basically I've been experiencing a connection problem between my X-Mon and the D-Command. Firmware Updater After you run the Command8 installer, a firmware updater, as well as resource files for both Mac OS X and Windows, are in-cluded in the Command8 folder on your computer. ![]()
